Video Recording Only When Triggered: A standard security camera will only be able to record continuously or not at all, where as a motion sensor camera can be set to record only when movement is detected. Set-up Up a Watch Zone: Many motion sensor security cameras have the ability to set a watch zone, which means only a partial area of a camera’s range can be set to trigger recording and/or alerts. For example, you can set a camera to only trigger recording when movement is detected at a specific door or window and not the surrounding area. This avoids recording video in areas you don’t want to monitor.

Wireless or Wired: Your system can be wired or wireless, with wireless security cameras having the obvious advantage of being hassle free to set-up as they can be placed just about anywhere.
Additional features of a quality motion sensor security camera will include sound and low light or night vision. Some cameras can be installed directly on computer networks (IP cameras) and some come with complete digital video recording (DVR) units and monitors.
